IT WAS CUSTOMARY IN THE JEWISH SOCIETY OF BAGHDAD,TO
HAVE AN OPEN HOUSE ON THE FIRST SATURDAY AFTER THE
WEDDING,HUNDREDS OF WOMEN, MOSTLY
STRANGERS,DRESSED IN "ABAYAH" CAME TO SEE THE BRIDE
DRESSED IN HER WEDDING DRESS AND HER TROUSSEAU
EXHIBITED IN THE BRIDE'S ROOM.

PART OF THE  ABOVE WAS TOLD TO ME BY MY AUNT NAZIMA  
WIFE OF UNCLE HAYAWEE SAWDAYEE BORN IN THE YEAR 1912.
